2004–05 Ligue Magnus season

The 2004/05 season was the 83rd season of the Ligue Magnus, the highest French Hockey League. Champion for the first time in club history in general of Hockey Club de Mulhouse. The Sangliers Arvernes de Clermont descended to the second division.

Mode

In the main round, the 15 teams completed 28 games each. The top eight teams qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. The teams ranked 9-12 of the main round then played in a Placement Round to Square 9 The three last placed the main round contest a relegation round, the last place had to play in the relegation to the second division champions. For a victory after regular time and overtime, each team was given two points, a draw and one defeat after overtime there was a point and a defeat after regular time zero points.
