2004–05 Nationalliga A season

The season 2004 /05 was the 67th regular season of the National League A. The HC Davos was in the play-off final against the ZSC Lions Swiss champion. In the National League B, the EHC Basel ' B- master ' was and managed in a duel with the NLA bottom club Lausanne HC at the expense of promotion to the top division.

The season was special in that as some NHL players reinforced the teams in Switzerland due to the NHL lockout:

Were played by the 12 teams two double rounds of 22 games. After that, the best eight teams determined the Swiss champion in playoff style. Quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals were played each after the mode best -of-seven.

The other four teams determined in the play- outs that team that had to play for the league against the champions of the National League B.
