2004–05 Russian Superleague season
The 2004/05 season was the ninth season of the Super League. The league title secured for the second time the HK Dynamo Moscow.

Main Round
Mode
The 16 teams in the Super League first played in a common main round against each other, each team played 60 games season. The top eight teams qualified for the play- offs then, where the Master was played, while for the remaining eight teams that play time was over. For a win within regular time each team received three points with a win in overtime two points with a tie after overtime, there was also a point like a defeat after overtime. For one defeat after regulation time gave no points.

Awards
Lockout of the NHL season
Due to the complete failure of the 2004/05 season the North American National Hockey League because of the lockout, it could be the teams in the Super League does not accept to take some players from the NHL under contract. All told, in the course of the season about 50 players from overseas to travel to Russia. Ak Bars Kazan presented with 13 players the largest contingent, Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk undertook the only team not one player.
