2004–05 Vysshaya Liga season
The 2004/05 season the Wysschaja League was the 13th season of the second highest Russian hockey league.

Mode
The 28 teams were divided Wysschaja league before the season according to regional criteria in two conferences, each with 14 participants. First, each team played four games against each opponent within their own conference, so the number of matches per team was 52.
The top eight teams from each conference qualified for the playoffs then, in which the second division champion was pitted and ascended the finalists directly in the Super League. The two Kazakh participants were excluded from the playoffs, so that could move up two Russian teams. For a win within regular time each team received three points with a victory after extra two points, a draw and one defeat after extra time there was a point and a defeat after regular time zero points.
