2004 Alpine Skiing World Cup

The season 2003/2004 the FIS Alpine World Cup, organized by the began on 25 October 2003 in Sölden and ended on 14 March 2004 during the World Cup finals in Sestriere. For men, 38 races were held (12 runs, 7 Super -G, Giant Slalom 8, 11 slaloms ), were added two combination scores. For women, there were 36 races (10 runs, 8 Super -G, Giant Slalom 8, 10 slaloms ).

This season was an interim year without a world championship or Olympic Games.

The men's overall World Cup was marked by a duel between the after almost two years of injury in the World Cup returned Hermann Maier, who had won before his serious motorcycle accident three times the World Cup (1998, 2000, 2001 ), and Stephan Eberharter, in Maier's absence the total votes in 2002 and 2003 could decide for themselves. Eberharter was due to a strong chill a bad start to the season (so initially rather Bode Miller was seen as the main competitor for Maier ), but gradually picked up and had before the last scheduled race, the giant slalom in Sestriere, a deficit of 42 points. As this race was canceled due to bad weather, Maier was clear as World Cup winner.
