2004 Major League Soccer season

The Major League Soccer 2004 season ran from as follows.

In this Major League Soccer season won D.C. United for the 4th time the MLS Cup. The big news in 2004 was that the " child prodigy " Freddy Adu in the age of 14 signed a contract with DC United won and scored his first goal against the MetroStars. He scored, as the youngest player in the North American sports history, a total of 5 goals.

Columbus Crew presented in the 2nd half of a regular season MLS record with 18 no games lost in a row.

The championship final was held in a row at the Home Depot Center for the second time. For the first time a player has been sent off in the final ( Dema Kovalenko after handling the ball on the goal line ).
