2004 World Series

The 2004 World Series was the 100th edition of the Finals of the Major League Baseball. The series started on 23 October 2004 and ended on 27 October 2004. There stood the champion of the American League, the Boston Red Sox, and the champion of the National League, the St. Louis Cardinals, opposite. Winner of the " Best of Seven " series were the Boston Red Sox by one, which is unusual for a World Series sweep. The Red Sox won four games in a row and thus defeated the Cardinals 4-0.

It was the first title of the Red Sox since 86 years. At that time, in 1918, the Red Sox had won against the Chicago Cubs.
