2005–06 2. Bundesliga (women)
The 2005/06 season was the second season of the 2nd Bundesliga for women. The season began on 14 August 2005 and ended on June 5, 2006. The second season of the second women's football league was far more exciting than the season premiere. With the exception of the two last placed the box moved closer together. Four of the six decisions were made only on the final day.

Course of the season
In the Northern Group, the VfL Wolfsburg and FC Gütersloh 2000 delivered a thrilling duel for the promotion place. With the Wolfsburgern finally won by the more experienced ones team. After a 3-0 victory over the Pupils Timmel could cheer already in the penultimate round. With Martina Müller VfL presented the best scorer in the league. Gütersloh missing out on promotion because she just could not take advantage of Wolfsburg Patzer and himself had points. Behind the front to Tennis Borussia Berlin, Wattenscheid 09 and the strengthened Victoria found from barley again. In Berlin Association's internal squabbles prevented a more successful season. Automatically increased the masters of the four regional leagues: Hamburger SV II (North ), 1 FC Locomotive Leipzig ( East ), Herford SV (West ) and the SC 07 Bad Neuenahr II (southwest).
As the Süddeutsche Football Federation has no Regional, the Masters of Oberligen Hesse, Baden- Württemberg and Bavaria have a promotion round play. For this purpose, the following teams qualified: TGS Jügesheim (Hesse), FV Lochgau (Baden- Württemberg ) and the SC Regensburg ( Bavaria).
