2005–06 Ekstraklasa

The Orange Ekstraklasa 2005/ 06 was the 72th edition of the top Polish league in football. It took place until May 13, 2006 of 24 July 2005. 16 teams played a total of 30 game days divided into a back and a second round each against each other twice. For a victory, there were three, one for a draw and a defeat for no point. Master was at the end of the season the team with the most points descend, were bound to the two teams with the least points.

From the 2nd league 2004/ 05 three clubs had risen: Korona Kielce, GKS Belchatow and Arka Gdynia, which replaced the relegated GKS Katowice. At this situation, it was because the league size has been increased from 14 to 16 clubs now. Odra Wodzisław had to play in the relegation and won against Widzew Łódź.

From the Orange Ekstraklasa 2005/ 06, the Polish champions qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League 2006/07. In the UEFA Cup 2006/07 runners-up (second qualifying round ) and Cup Winners' Cup starts ( second round ). Third- compete in the first qualifying round, while in the UEFA Intertoto Cup 2006 takes up the table in fourth.

Decisions

Polish Champion 2005/ 06 was Legia Warsaw, Wisla Krakow was runner-up. By the Cup victory, Wisła Płock could qualify for the UEFA Cup, Amica Wronki participated as a table at the fourth Intertoto Cup.

As the first relegated Lech Poznań was clear that are automatically relegated by license withdrawal from the Ekstraklasa. The merger with Amica Wronki the club was able to realize the whereabouts in the Ekstraklasa. As the first sporting relegated Polonia Warsaw was held while Arka Gdynia had to play in the play-offs.
