2005–06 Luxembourg National Division

The National Division 2005/ 06 was the 92nd season of the highest Luxembourg Football League.

F91 Dudelange could successfully defend the title and won the fifth championship since the founding of the association.

Championship format

The twelve teams first played a fundamental passage consisting of a simple round-trip round. After that, the top four teams competed in the Masters playoff against each other. The remaining eight teams were divided into two groups, and played for the league. The points from the regular season were taken in each case.

Each of these three groups was again played in a round-trip round. The two last of the descent groups were in relegation matches against the third - or fourth-placed team of an honorary degree. Since the league was increased to 14 teams next season, no team was relegated directly.

Relegation playoff group 1

Based on the results of the basic passage only the U.S. Rumelange and Swift Hesperingen came as a theoretical Relegation participants in question.

Relegation playoff group 2

Since the points were taken out of the regular season, came only Victoria Rosport and FC Avenir Beggen as theoretical Relegation participants in question. Due to the 18 -point gap and substantially worse goal difference against Victoria Rosport Avenir Beggen was practically laid before the six playoff games as a group last.

Expulsion

Both lost their Erstligateams discharged on neutral ground relegation matches and had to descend into the honorary doctorate.
