The 2005/06 season was the 15th season of the Slovenian Hockey League, the highest Slovenian Hockey League. Champion for a fifth time in club history the HK Jesenice.

Mode
The ten teams were divided into the main round in two groups. All three teams in Group I and Group II first qualified for the final round, the top two teams in the playoff finals were playing for the championship, while the other two teams in the final round played for 3rd place. The remaining four Slovenian teams played in home and away leg against each other for 5th place, while the two guest teams competed Croatian exclusively against their opponents from the group II and did not participate in the second season phase. According to their main round placement, the teams were given in the second season phase bonus points. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
