Season 2006>

( Been in 2004 was an eleventh not to the championship scoring race in Shanghai held ) The 2005 DTM season was the sixth season of the DTM since the resumption of the series in 2000., The number of race was extended to eleven races between 2004 and 2005 by ten. Originally each route should be a race unsubscribe (except Hockenheim with the kick-off and final race ). Changes in 2004/2005

• The vehicles, which were built from 2000 to 2003, were removed from the series. The field consisted only of 2005's and 2004's models.
• In Italy and Portugal, no races were held. The two routes were replaced by Spa -Francorchamps ( Belgium ) and Istanbul (Turkey).
• Opel reduced its fleet from six to four vehicles, while Mercedes and Audi increased their quotas to eight participants.
• Opel announced that 2005 would be the last time being DTM season of Rüsselsheim.
