2005 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships
The 69th Ice Hockey World Championships in 2005, the IIHF men were held on the following dates and at the following locations.

The games at the 69th World Championship for Men were held until May 15, 2005 in Austria on 30 April. The venues were the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna and the Olympiahalle Innsbruck. The competition format remained unchanged compared to the previous year. According to the Canadian domination of the past two years the title this year went back to the Czech Republic, which was able to win his eleventh world title.
In Group A played: Slovakia, Russia, Austria and Belarus. Host the group matches was Vienna.
In Group B played: Canada, United States, Latvia and Slovenia. It was played in Innsbruck.
In Group C played: Sweden, Finland, Ukraine and Denmark. The matches of the group were held in Innsbruck.
In Group D, played in Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland and Kazakhstan. Both teams play was Vienna
Relegation round for places 13-16, Group G
The last of the respective groups A to D play in this round against each other. All games were played, with the exception of the duel Germany - held in Innsbruck Austria.
Group E is composed of the first three of the groups A and D. All games took place in Vienna. The direct comparisons from the first round were taken.
The group F is composed of the first three of the groups B and C. All games were held in Innsbruck. The direct comparisons from the first round were taken.
The play-off matches were played, with the exception of two quarter-finals in Vienna.

Division I, Group A
The matches of Group A Division I found from 17 to 23 April Debrecen in Hungary. In Group A played: Japan ( relegated ), Norway, Poland, Hungary, the UK and China ( promoted from Division II).
Division I, Group B
The matches of Group B of Division I were held to 23 April in Eindhoven in the Netherlands on 17. In Group B played: France ( relegated ), Italy, Estonia, the Netherlands, Romania and Lithuania ( promoted from Division II).

Division II, Group A
The matches of Group A Division II happen until April 16 in Zagreb, Croatia on 10. In Group A played: South Korea ( relegated from Division I), Croatia, Australia, Bulgaria, New Zealand and Turkey ( promoted from Division III).
Division II, Group B
The matches of Group B of Division II were held to 10 April in Belgrade in Serbia - Montenegro on 4. In Group B played: Belgium ( relegated from Division I), Serbia - Montenegro, North Korea, Israel, Spain and Iceland ( promoted from Division III).
The Games of the Division III took place 12 March in Mexico City in Mexico of 7. In Division III played: Luxembourg, South Africa (both relegated Division II ), Mexico, Ireland, Armenia
