2006–07 Czech Extraliga season
The 2006/ 07 was the 14th regular hosting of the Czech Extraliga. In the play-off final, the last year's champion HC Sparta Prague sat against HC Moeller Pardubice by 4-2 and was able to defend his title. In the first league of the Czech Republic, the HC Slovan Ustecti Lvi prevailed against KLH Chomutov and rose without Relegation on in the Extraliga. After the season Vsetínská hokejová was excluded due to financial problems and unmet requirements from the league.

Mode
In 52 games, all teams play against each other four times each, each team throughout the season 26 home and 26 away games. The teams ranked 1st - 6th directly qualify for the play- offs, which will be played in best-of- seven- mode. The teams ranked 7th - 10th play the two other places in the best of five with each other. In the season 2006/ 07 no relegation will take place, as this is not provided for in the rules of the Extraliga. Thus, the master of the first league rises directly on the Extraliga.

The last two places of the playoffs were seventh - up played out between the tenth- placed teams. Here, each of the worse -placed teams prevailed. When HC Třinec Roman Cechmanek showed superior performance and parried in the three games 114 of 118 shots at his goal. Another legend of the Czech ice hockey, Jiří Dopita, succeeded in his 700th game with the Extraliga HC Orli Znojemští a place in the play-offs.

Final
Master of the 2006/07 season was the HC Sparta Prague, who won against HC Moeller Pardubice. Thus Sparta won the fifth title in club history and was able to defend the title last year.
