2006–07 DFB-Pokal

The final round of the DFB - Pokal 2007, the men took place between September 2006 and May 2007. This competition was the 64th playout of the German Association Cup and ended with the final on 26 May 2007 at Berlin's Olympic Stadium. Cup Winners' Cup was the 1st FC Nuremberg.

Many classified as strong teams dropped out relatively early. Werder Bremen and Hamburger SV lost in the first round, Schalke, Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund followed in the second. In the second round then defeated the defending champions Bayern Munich against Alemannia Aachen.

In the final of VfB Stuttgart played against 1 FC Nuremberg. Stuttgart had only a week earlier won the championship and the chance to the first double in their history. Nuremberg, however, the league had finished in sixth place, which meant the best season since 1987/88. Although Nuremberg had won both league games against Stuttgart, VfB was as favorite. Nuremberg won 3-2 after extra time, however, what the first title win for 39 years and the first Cup victory since 1962 meant for the " Club". Nuremberg had thus achieved four victories in six finals and moved with Eintracht Frankfurt the same as the fifth best team trophy. In addition, for the first time a finale in the extension was decided in 1979 again.

For the first time since 2002 there was no double than in the championship of Borussia Dortmund FC Schalke 04 Cup Winners Cup was.

As the Nuremberg Cup winner in the UEFA Cup took 2007/ 08, where she dropped out in the sixteenth final against Benfica.

The games of the second main round took place on 24 and 25 October 2006.

*** Match abandoned after 81 minutes at the registry of 0:2 ( 0:0). Assistant Referee Kai Voss had been hit and injured by a thrown from the fan block hard plastic cup. The DFB sports court declared the winner Hertha BSC 2-0 Goals and condemned the Kickers to a fine of 10,000 euros and play a match behind closed doors.

Second round

The second round games were held on 19 and 20 December 2006.
