2006–07 Interliga season

The season 2005/06 Inter League was the eighth and final discharge of the special successor of the Alpine Ice Hockey Championship. For the first and only time the league was divided into two performance classes, attended five teams in both groups. Master of the A group was the second time the Hungarian team Alba Volán Székesfehérvár, winner of the B group was the farm team of HK Jesenice.

Group A

Participants and mode

The field of group A shrank by two teams. The HK Jesenice occurred since this season with his first team in the Austrian Hockey League and remained with only a farm team in Group B. Entirely on participation renounced the Hungarian club Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák.

The mode was again changed a bit in order to take account of the changing number of teams. In the ground through two round-trip rounds were held, which resulted in a total of sixteen games. Then, a quarter final was played in the playing off the teams in positions four and five in a best - of-three series the last playoff spot. Semifinals and finals were subsequently discharged in the best-of -seven - mode.

With the 3-0 victory in the series Alba Volán Székesfehérvár was the second time champion of the Inter League.

Group B

Participants and mode

At the B group attended five teams from the two nations, which had taken part in addition to the farm team of HK Jesenice neither team previously at the Inter League. The mode corresponded to that of group A, except that the regular season was played only as a simple round-trip round. Similarly, there remained in all playoff encounters in a best-of -three series.

Final

With the 2-0 in the final series, the farm team of HK Jesenice secured the championship. For the club, it was the third overall championship title of the Inter League.
