2006–07 Tour de Ski

The Tour de Ski 2006/2007 was an organized regularly in the context of cross-country skiing World Cup 2006/ 07 stage race. It was originally planned for 29 December 2006 to 7 January 2007, at five different locations in three countries. Following the deletion of the first venue Nové Město na Moravě in the Czech Republic due to unstable weather conditions the competition had to be shortened. The start of the competition took place on 31 December in Munich.

Changes

Due to the cancellation of the first two races in Nove Mesto na Moravě there was less total prize money. The overall winners were each awarded 112,500 Swiss francs. The total prize money of 750,000 Swiss francs was paid. Points are awarded for the Gesamtklassemt remained unaffected by the race cancellation. The winner has continued to receive 400 points for the World Cup. The subsequent finishers also received four times the score against a single race.

The final race with handicap start for the men was reduced to 11 km.

Participant

At the Tour de Ski 60 women and 88 men nahmem part from 22 nations.

The second race started in the women's only 59, but all came to the finish. For men, 6 participants did not go to the start. The finish only 76 were among those who did not finish the race, John was Bredl (best German the day before), the winner and third - place finisher from Munich.

The classic race over 15 km of disputed 55 women and 74 men. All participants came to the finish. From a German perspective Axel Teichmann was no longer at the start.

Czech Republic Nové Město na Moravě:

  • December 29: Prolog, classic, single start, 3 km ( women) and 4.5 km (men).
  • December 30: Chase *, free technology, handicap Start *, 10 km ( women) and 15 km (men).

The race on December 29 and 30 December had been eliminated due to lack of snow. Launch of Tour de Ski was now in Munich.

Germany Munich:

  • December 31: sprint free technique, mass start race in KO, 1.0 km ( women) and 1.2 km (men).
  • January 1: Closed

Germany Oberstdorf:

  • January 2: Double - tracking, classic free technique, ski duathlon 5 5 km ( women) and 10 10 km (men).
  • January 3: distance races, classic, individual start, 10 km ( women) and 15 km (men).
  • January 4: Rest

Asiago Italy:

  • JANUARY 5: sprint free technique, mass start race in KO, 1.0 km ( women) and 1.2 km (men).

Italy Val di Fiemme Cavalese

  • January 6, 2007: distance races, classic, mass start, 15 km ( women) and 30 km (men).
  • January 7, 2007: * tracking, free technology, handicap Start *, 10 km ( women) and 15 km ( men), mountain stage.

(*) Handicap Start: When this race was started in the order of the current general classification, ie the / the leader first. The start interval resulted from the difference in total time between starters all previously completed races.
