2006 FINA World Open Water Swimming Championships

The Open Water World Championships 2006 took place from August 29 to September 3, 2006 in Naples instead. There were discharged Individual competition for women and men over the distances 5, 10 and 25 kilometers.

The Open Water World Championships in 2006 were strongly influenced by German side. So alone were three of the six titles on German athletes: In the women's Larissa Iltschenko gained over 5 and 10 km, and Angela Maurer 25 Kilometer.Bei men Thomas Lurz secured the title on 5 and 10 km, Josh Santacaterina won over 25 kilometers.
