2006 Ryder Cup

The 36th Ryder Cup was held from 22 to 24 September 2006 the Kildare Hotel and Golf Club in Straffan, Ireland. Europe won the competition with 18 ½ to 9 ½.

The Kildare Golf Club is home to the Palmer Course and the Smurfit Course. On the Palmer Course (also called North Course or Old Course ) often took place in the Smurfit European Open. Also, the Ryder Cup was played on the Palmer Course.
