2006 Thailand Premier League

The 2006 season of the Thailand Premier League was first held with twelve teams. For the 2005 season there were ten teams that participated in the match operation. Thus, there were four climbers for the 2006 season. Two teams came from the Thailand Division 1 League, which is part of the FAT and two other teams were from the Thailand Provincial League, which is part of the SAT. These individual reform steps were and are necessary to create in Thailand gradually more professional structures. 2006 the Premier League and for the first time held under its new official name of Thailand Premier League.

For the first time in its history was the 2006 Bangkok University FC Masters.

Decisions

Kor Royal Cup

The Kor Royal Cup was held at the end of the season as Supercup between the champions and runners. 2006 Cup between FC Osotspa M- 150 and the champion FC Bangkok University was held. It remained at the end of the runner-up the upper hand and won 2-1.

Queen's Cup

Second division side FC Royal Thai Navy was responsible for the surprise when she won the 32nd edition of the Queen's Cup. In the final, they were able to defeat the first division club FC Krung Thai Bank 1-0.

Continental competitions

Thailand Tobacco Monopoly FC champion and runner- Provincial Electricity Authority were qualified for the AFC Champions League. However, they were excluded from the contest, as both teams had reported their squad too late. However, there were also rumors that the two clubs is cost prohibitive in the competition could participate.
