2006 WPA Men's World Nine-ball Championship

The World Cup 9- Ball 2006 was the seventeenth edition of this tournament and took place between the 4th and 12th November 2006 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City (Philippines ) instead. The annual World Championship is organized by the WPA ( World Pool - Billiard Association ). World Champion was local hero Ronato Alcano by a 17:11 victory in the final against Ralf Souquet from Germany.

Regulate

A total of 128 players from 42 nations participated in the tournament.

It was played with alternating break. This means that is alternately triggered, regardless of who won the previous rack.

In the preliminary round, the number of players was reduced from 128 to 64. It was played first in 32 groups of four players.

In the final round was played in the knockout system, so every defeat led to the withdrawal from the tournament.

The first round took place from 4 to 7 November. Nine of the 32 set group headers already eliminated from the first round. These were:
