2007–08 A-League
The 2007/08 season was the third season of the A-League in football. Masters were first Newcastle United Jets, which in the final 1-0 against the champions of the regular season, the Central Coast Mariners interspersed. The two previous finalists Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United both missed the play- off round. With Wellington Phoenix since the founding of the League for the first time took a new team in the game operation part. Phoenix replaced the New Zealand Knights, who have lost their licenses in the previous season.

Before the start of the A- League season, the obligatory pre-season Cup was held.
Pre -Season Challenge Cup
The Pre -Season Challenge Cup 2007 took place as a leading high season in July and August. The eight A- League teams were initially à into two preliminary round groups of four teams split up and played in a simple league round. In the league round, there were in addition to the normal points and bonus points for goals scored. For two goals scored it was a point three goals brought two points for four or more goals were awarded three bonus points.
The two group winners of each group advanced in the semi-finals and played the winner of the knockout process. The third-placed and fourth contributed from placement games.
Some of the games were held in Australian cities without A- League team, to campaign for the league.
In the final, defending champion Adelaide United set 2-1 against Perth Glory.
