2007–08 Copa del Rey

The Copa del Rey 2007/ 08 is the 104th edition of the Spanish Football Cup Copa del Rey.

The cup competition was launched on 29 August 2007 and ended on 16 April 2008 with the final at the Estadio Vicente Calderón ( Madrid).

The Copa del Rey is played in rounds. The game is played in the first three rounds in only one game - in a draw is with extension, if applicable penalty shoot a decision sought. From the round of 32 games will be played in home and away matches. In the Copa del Rey, the same rules apply as for European club competitions: Away goals count more than home goals. The final will be played in a game that looked the winner in a draw through extra time and penalties.

Some teams are exempted from certain rounds:

  • In the second round of the main teams in the Segunda División come to the clubs Segunda División B and Tercera División added.
  • In the third main round these teams play from the opponents of the first division.
  • In the Round of 32 teams in the Primera División are added.
  • In the Copa del Rey will, inter alia, worked with byes in the first round, to get to an even number of participants.

The final will be on April 16 at the Vicente Calderón Stadium, in the Spanish capital Madrid.

In the first round enter 36 teams Segunda División B and Tercera División in the competition, which have qualified in preliminary rounds.

In the third round, the main remaining teams play from the opponents of the first division.

In this round, the teams from the Primera División added.

First leg on 13 November 2007; Return matches on 2 January 2008

Team # 1 plays the first game at home.

Second round

First leg on 9 January 2008; Return legs on 16 January 2008

Team # 1 plays the first game at home.

Quarterfinals

First leg on 23 January 2008; Return legs on 30 January 2008

Team # 1 plays the first game at home.

Semifinal

First leg on 27 Februar/28. February 2008; Return legs on 20 März/19. March 2008
