2007–08 Ekstraklasa

The Orange Ekstraklasa 2007/ 08 was the 74th edition of the top Polish league in football. It took place until May 10, 2008 July 27, 2007. 16 teams played a total of 30 game days divided into a back and a second round each against each other twice. For a victory, there were three, one for a draw and a defeat for no point. Master was at the end of the season the team with the most points descend, were bound to the two teams with the least points.

From the 2nd league 2006/ 07 four clubs had risen: Ruch Chorzów, Jagiellonia Białystok, Polonia Bytom and Zagłębie Sosnowiec which replaced the two relegated Wisła Płock and Pogoń Szczecin, and the two offenses punished by corruption scandal clubs Arka Gdynia and Górnik Łęczna.

From the Orange Ekstraklasa 2007/ 08, the Polish champions qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League 2008 /09. In the UEFA Cup 2008/09 runners-up (first qualifying round ) and Cup Winners' Cup starts ( first round ). In the UEFA Intertoto Cup 2008 starts a team.

Decisions

Polish Champion 2007/ 08 was Wisla Krakow, Legia Warsaw was runner-up. For the UEFA Cup Lech Poznan qualified as the third-placed Dyskobolia Grodzisk uttered by a merger with Polonia Warsaw against a participation in the European Cup. Cracovia Krakow qualified as in sixth for the Intertoto Cup, since both the fifth- Zagłębie Lubin, as well as sixth- Korona Kielce not reported for this competition.

As the first sporting relegated Widzew Łódź was clear, the other three clubs Zagłębie Sosnowiec, Zagłębie Lubin and Korona Kielce was excluded by a corruption scandal from the game.
