2007 AFC Champions League

AFC Champions League 2007 was the fifth edition of the AFC Champions League. There were a total of 28 teams from 15 member associations of the Asian Football Federation. The season started on March 7, 2007 and ended on 14 November of the same year.

Winners of the tournament were the Urawa Red Diamonds, the Japanese champion prevailed in the final against the Iranian representatives Sepahan Isfahan. It was the first win of the AFC Champions League by a Japanese club.

Qualification

The 15 organizations that have been classified as fully developed by the AFC be able to appoint the master and the Cup Winners' Cup and the runner-up respectively. Thailand and Vietnam lost from 2007 ever so represented a place in Australia and were only one game, compensation received, the two organizations a starting place in the AFC Cup.

The draw for the groups found on 22 December 2006 in Kuala Lumpur, where the participants were divided into seven groups of four teams. The seven group winners and last year's champions Jeonbuk Motors play then in the final rounds.

In February Esteghlal Tehran was disqualified from AFC since the club his team not timely registered.

Quarterfinals

The draw for the quarter-finals was held in Kuala Lumpur on 13 June 2007. The matches were played on 19 and 26 September 2007.
