2007 European Baseball Championship

From 7 September to 16 September 2007, the European Championship in baseball took place in the Spanish city of Barcelona. At the same time this tournament served as the European Qualification Tournament for XXIX. 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. Venues for the games were the three stages " Montjuic ", " Viladecans " and " Sant Boi ." European champions were the Netherlands, who won their 20th title overall.

Preliminary round

Group A

In group A qualified after 15 games, the teams from the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden for the final round. Not in the next round could Croatia, Austria and the Czech Republic to move.

Czech Republic originally had two victories, but these were subsequently evaluated with 9:0 for the opponents. Reason for this was that for three players of Major League Baseball did not exist the necessary permissions match in the Czech team.

Group B

In group B, qualified after 15 games, the teams from the UK, Spain and France for the final round. Surprisingly, could the Italian team that still won the silver medal at the European Championship in 2005, do not qualify for the final round and finished the tournament in seventh place. Also, the Ukraine and Russia could not qualify for the next round.

Final round

In the table for the final round also included all the games that have been completed in the first round against teams that reached the final round. The Dutch team was able to defend their European title in 2005, thus reaching already the 20th success in baseball European Championships.
