2007 World Matchplay (darts)
The Stan James World Matchplay 2007 was a major tournament in darts and was developed by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC ) is organizing. It was held in Blackpool on 22 to 29 July 2007 at the Winter Gardens.
The defending champion Phil Taylor lost this year with 11:17 in the semifinal against the Englishman Terry Jenkins, who in turn his compatriot James Wade defeated in the final 7:18. It was the first victory in a major tournament for Wade at the PDC.
Prizes
The total amount of undistributed prize money was £ 200,000.
Qualification
For the World Matchplay 2007, the following players were qualified:
- The 16 top-ranked players in the Order of Merit (set)
- The 16 top-ranked players in the Players Championship Order of Merit, which were not already eligible on the Order of Merit ( unset )
