2007 WTA Tour Championships
The WTA Championships 2007 (also known as Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Championships ) was an indoor tennis hard court tournament for women at Madrid, Spain. The tournament took place from 6 to 11 November 2007, and was after the four Grand Slam tournaments, the on points and prize money with the highest prize tournament of the WTA tournament in the calendar of the ladies. The Tennis Championships WTA Tour in women's singles and double were held for the second time in Madrid.
The Belgian Justine Henin in the singles and the duo Lisa Raymond and Samantha Stosur in a double were the defending champions.
Winner of the single was Justine Henin, who defeated Maria Sharapova with 5:7, 7:5 and 6:3. The double title secured the pairing Cara Black and Liezel Huber. She won the final against Katarina Srebotnik / Ai Sugiyama with 5:7, 6:3 and [ 10:8 ].

Qualification
The top eight ladies of the WTA Tour qualified for this competition. In addition there were two reservists.
Competition mode
In the round-robin tournament phase (English Round Robin ), played four players in two groups each against all. The two winners of each group qualified for the semi-finals, which was held after the knockout system. The winner of each group played against the second of the other group and the winners of these games contested the final.
