2008–09 Liga I

The League 1 2008 /09 was the 71st season in the history of the highest Romanian football league. It began on 26 July 2008 and ended on 10 June 2009. Between mid- December to end of February rested the game operation ( winter break ). Champion Unirea Urziceni. Descent had Farul Constanta, CS Otopeni and Gloria Buzău. Gaz Metan Medias Actually would have had to descend, but since FC Arges Pitesti got no license, Gaz Metan Medias was allowed to stay in the league.

Regulate

The League 1 played with 18 teams. The four last-place teams were relegated to the Liga II, ascended from the four teams ( the top two from each of the two seasons ). For a victory, there were three points for a draw and one point for a loss no points. If two or more teams finish the season were tied, decided not goal difference, but a direct comparison.
