2008–09 Liga II
The League II 2008 /09 was the 69th season of the second Romanian football league. It began on 16 August 2008 and ended on 13 June 2009. From early December 2008 to late February 2009, rested the game operation ( winter break ). Up in the League 1 were Piatra Neamţ Ceahlăul, FC Ploiesti, Unirea Alba Iulia and internationally Curtea de Arges.
Mode
The League II was fought in two seasons each with 18 teams. The two teams in every season were promoted to the Football League 1, while the four lowest ranked teams had to stay in the League III. Second teams of first division were not entitled to advancement. For a victory, there were three points, one for a draw and no points for a defeat. Case of a tie at the end of the season not the goal difference, but the direct comparison decided.
