2008 Africa Cup of Nations qualification

The qualification for the African Cup of 2008 took place in the period between September 2006 and September 2007. 46 of 48 reported national Confederation of African Football took part in the qualification phase. The teams were drawn against twelve groups, eleven of them with four and one with three teams. Hosts Ghana was set for the final round and Djibouti withdrew before the qualifiers. Ultimately qualified alongside host the twelve group winners and the top three runners of the four groups.

Not participated in the qualification have the Central African Republic, Comoros, Guinea- Bissau, Zanzibar, Sao Tome and Principe, Somalia and Djibouti.

The following 16 teams have qualified for the African Cup of Nations 2008 in Ghana.

  • Morocco Morocco as winners of Group 12
  • Tunisia Tunisia as one of the three best runners-up.
  • Benin Benin as one of the three best runners-up.
  • South Africa South Africa as one of the three best runners-up.
