2008 CAF Champions League

The CAF Champions League 2008 began on 15 February 2008 with the first round and ended on 16 November 2008 with the final second leg between Coton Sport Garoua of Cameroon and Al - Ahly of Egypt. The title was won for the third time in the last four years, Al -Ahly, which won 2-0 at home in the first leg and the second leg in Garoua earned a 2-2 draw. With a total of six titles Al -Ahly is now the sole record winner of the CAF Champions League.

A total of 58 teams from 54 state associations participated in the tournament.

First round

First leg from February 15 to 17, Second leg matches from February 29 to March 2.

1 disqualified from the CAF.

A bye in the first round were:

  • Tunisia Étoile Sportive du Sahel
  • Algeria JS Kabylie
  • Libya Al -Ittihad
  • Sudan Al- Hilal Khartoum

Second Round

First leg from March 21 to 23, Second leg matches from 4th to 6th of April.

1 disqualified from the CAF.

Second round

First legs on 26 and 27 April, Rear Games 9 to 11 May
