2008 Masters Series Monte-Carlo

The Monte Carlo Masters 2008 ( officially: Masters Series Monte - Carlo presented by ROLEX ) was a tennis tournament which took place near Monaco from 19 to 27 April 2008 at the French Roquebrune- Cap- Martin. It was part of the ATP Tour in 2008 and was discharged on clay court. In the current season, it was the third of nine tournaments of the ATP Masters Series.

In individual Rafael Nadal won the tournament by a final victory over the world number one Roger Federer for the fourth time in a row. In doubles, Bob and Mike Bryan were the defending champions, they divorced this year, however, already in the quarterfinals of. In the final, the Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Tommy Robredo won in straight sets against Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles. Nadal was therefore unable to secure both the single and the double title this year and won a total of 415 500 U.S. dollars prize money and 500 ranking points in the individual as well as his partner in doubles.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 56 players, double that of the competition from 24 pairs. The eight top-seeded player in singles or pairs in double each got a bye into the second round.
