2008 PDC World Darts Championship

The Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship 2008 was held in London on 17 December 2007 to 1 January 2008. This championship was organized by the PDC for the 15th time and held for the first time at Alexandra Palace. In previous years, the tournament took place regularly at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, Essex instead. It was decided to move to London, because you could more than triple as the spectator capacity for the event. The total prize money amounted to £ 605,000, of which £ 100,000 went to the winner. The seeded 7 Canadian John Part won the tournament, as he previously relatively unknown Englishman Kirk Shepherd defeated in the final with 7:2 sets. Titleholder was Raymond van Barneveld, who was defeated in the second round already Kevin Painter.

The preliminary matches were played on 17 and 18 December 2007. It took only 5 legs to feed in the first main round.

First round

The meetings were held from 19 to 22 December 2007 after the mode best of 5 (sets and legs ) instead.
