2008 UEFA Intertoto Cup
For the UEFA Intertoto Cup 2008 were 50 UEFA member associations in each of the competition send a football team. In three rounds was played eleven places in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup in 2008/ 09. The association teams, which occupied the top places in the UEFA five year ranking went up, until later in the competition a ( place 9 to 22 - from 2nd round, 1st to 8th place - from 3rd round ).
To keep the travel costs for the clubs low, all the teams were based on geographical and logistical reasons, divided into three groups: Northern Europe, Central Europe and Southern Europe. The representatives from the Asian states of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Georgia were thereby assigned to the Central European group, as did the Eastern European teams from Belarus and Moldova or from the second round of Russia and Ukraine, and Romania from the third round. The representative of Switzerland, however, rose, as well as the Israeli team in the group Southern Europe (2nd round ), the Dutch representative in the group Northern Europe ( third round).
This year's sweeps were the last of the Intertoto competition. As of 2009, the UI-Cup went up in the qualification of the UEFA Europa League UEFA Cup reshaped.
First round
The first legs took place on 21-22. June and the return matches on 28-29. June 2008 instead.
Second Round
The first legs took place on 5/6 July, the return matches on 12-13. Place in July 2008.
Third Round
The first legs took place on 19-20. July, the return matches on 26-27. Place in July 2008. The 11 teams that emerged victorious from the round, took part in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup in 2008/ 09.
Winner
