2008 Veikkausliiga

The First Division 2008 is the 19th season in the First Division, the highest Finnish league for football the men, since their introduction in 1990. First match was April 27, the season ended with the 26th Round on 26 October.

International cups 2009/10

Inter Turku

Champions Inter Turku met in July 2009 in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League 2009/ 10 on the Moldovan champions Sheriff Tiraspol series and lost both the outward and the return leg 0-1.

FC Honka Espoo

Runner Espoo rose in the UEFA Europa League 2009/ 10 in the second qualifying round. Opponents on July 16 and 23 2009, the Welsh Cup winners in 2008, Bangor City. Espoo prevailed 2-0 and 1-0. In the third qualifying round Espoo met on 30 July and 6 August at the Azerbaijani Cup winners FK Qarabağ Agdam and lost almost twice with 0:1 and 1:2.

FC Lahti

FC Lahti played on 2 and 9 July 2009 in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League 2009/10 against the Albanian club KS Dinamo Tirana. The first leg in Lahti won the FC 4-1. The return leg a week later went 0-2 lost, but handed the FC Lahti to progress. In the second qualifying round on 16 and 23 July, Lahti sat against the Slovenian team ND Gorica to a 0-1 defeat in the first leg 2-0 in the second leg through. In the third qualifying round Lahti met on 30 July and 6 August against FC Bruges. Counter Bruges Lahti eventually failed after a 2:3 in the first leg and a 1-1 draw.

HJK Helsinki

The fourth Finnish representatives in international business in 2009 /10 Cup Winners HJK Helsinki, failed in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League 2009/10 Vėtra Vilnius from Lithuania, despite a 1-0 victory in the first leg due to a 1-3 defeat in the return leg.
