2009–10 Czech 1. Liga season

The season 2009/10 was the 17th regular hosting of the first league, the second Czech hockey league. In the playoffs, the KLH Chomutov prevailed, who qualified for the Extra Liga relegation in which he failed because of the BK Mladá Boleslav. The HC Havířov and Hokej Šumperk 2003 increased from the 2nd league.

Mode

In the main round each of the 16 teams completed a total of 46 games. The four best-placed teams qualified directly for the playoff quarterfinals, while the teams first denied the squares 5-12 pre- playoffs. The four last placed athlete had to play in the relegation round, where the two last placed directly descended in the second league, and the results were taken from the main round. For a victory after regulation time, each team received three points with a victory after overtime to give two points for a loss after overtime there was a point. For one defeat after regulation time gave no points.

The last placed the relegation round - Hokej Šumperk 2003 - and in this no longer even be encountered HC Havířov descended into the 2nd league. Havířov withdrew his participation, as the team was mathematically relegated previously.
