2009–10 FIBA EuroChallenge

The 2009/10 season was the seventh staging of the FIBA Europe led by the Euro Challenge. The first group games of the regular season took place on November 24, 2009. The Final Four tournament ended on 2 May 2010 in Göttingen with the victory of the domestic BG Göttingen.

Mode

The 32 participants were divided into the first group stage in eight groups of four teams. The group winners and runners- on playing in the Last16 phase with four groups of four teams. The top two in each group qualified for the quarter-finals, which was played in a best-of -three series. The semifinals, finals and 3rd place match took place as part of a Final Four tournament.

At the regular season of the Euro Challenge attracted 32 teams.

  • 24 clubs were directly qualified for the main draw
  • 8 clubs as losers in the qualifying round of Euro Cup

The games of the first group stage took place between 24 November 2009 and 12 January 2010.

Quarterfinals

The quarter-final was played in a best-of -three series. The games were held on 23 and 25 March 2010.

The Final Four was held in the engine shed in Göttingen.
