2009 Bank of the West Classic

The Bank of the West Classic 2009 was the 13th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Stanford. It was one of only five Premier tournaments of the WTA Tour in 2009. The tournament was held from July 25 to August 2, 2009 on the campus of Stanford University instead and was the first competition of the U.S. Open Series, the series on the preparation U.S. Open.

Defending champion Aleksandra Wozniak was in the single and doubles Cara Black and Liezel Huber.

In individual Marion Bartoli defeated Venus Williams 6:2, 5:7, 6:4, and in the twin Serena Williams / Venus Williams against Chan Yung- jan / Monica Niculescu 6-4, 6-1.
