2009 Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions

The Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions 2009 took place from November 4 to 8, 2009 in Bali instead. It was the first edition of this Damentennnis tournament and part of the WTA Tour in 2009.

In 2009 the tournament was first held at the end of the season and as an invitation tournament. A double competition was not played.

The tournament won Aravane Rezai against Marion Bartoli 7-5, Bartoli task.

Singles

The ten according to individual World Ranking best tournament - winners of the 2009 season, who did not participate at the Sony Ericsson Championships the week before and at least were able to win a tournament in the category International, had qualified for the tournament. For the two remaining starting positions of the organizers distributed two wildcards. In addition, a replacement player was there.

It was first played in four groups of three in a round - robin fashion. The group winners qualified for the semi-finals and played from there to a knockout system.
