2009 GP2 Series season

The GP2 Series 2009 season was the fifth season of the GP2 series. It started on May 9, 2009 in Barcelona, Spain at the Circuit de Catalunya and ended on 20 September 2009 in Portimão, Portugal on the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. The champion of the driver Nico Hulkenberg won, whose team ART Grand Prix decided the team title.

Race

The race calendar of the GP2 Series 2009 season was released on 16 December 2008. 2009 drove the GP2 Series for the first time at the new circuit in Portimão. All other race weekends were held as support to the Formula 1.
