2009 LA Tennis Open

The LA Tennis Open 2009, a tennis tournament that to 2 August 2009 took place from July 27 in Los Angeles. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2009 and was discharged on hard court. In the same week the ATP Studena Croatia Open in Gstaad and the Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad played in Umag, who scored just like the Farmers Classic to Category ATP World Tour 250.

Last year's winner in the individual was Juan Martín del Potro, who did not participate in this year's tournament. In the final of locals Sam Querrey defeated qualifier Carsten Ball in three sets 6:4, 3:6 and 6:1. For Querrey it was the first tournament victory in the current year and the second ATP tournament victory of his career. In doubles, Rohan Bopanna and Eric Butorac were the defending champions, but they took no more common in the tournament. In this year's finale, Bob and Mike Bryan brothers and the German duo Benjamin Becker and Frank Moser stood against. The Bryan brothers won the final in straight sets, securing their fifth win in Los Angeles after she won the title in the years 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2007. For both it is in the current year already the fifth doubles title and 54th in total joint title in her career.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 28 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. The four top-seeded player in singles each got a bye into the second round.
