2009 Le Mans Series season
The Le Mans Series 2009 season was the sixth Endurance Championship of ACOs. She was discharged through five races in the period from 5 April 2009 to 13 September 2009.

In 2009, the ACO a series of modifications to both the technical, as well as at sporting rules. So were allowed to participate with energy recovery systems in the championship from 2009 Le Mans prototypes of the LMP1 category. Teams and Drivers
Defending champion Audi Sport Team Joest retired after the victory in the previous year from the series. However, two Audi R10 TDI remained the championship. On the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, the third round of the Le Mans Series 2009 was held on August 2 and went over a distance of 215 laps. In this case, a distance of 1000.395 km has been covered.
