2009 North American SuperLiga
The Super League in 2009, the third football competition of the Super League, was held from August 5, 2009 from June 20. Here, the Mexican Football Federation changed the qualification rules of its clubs and determined that the best teams from the combined Aperatura and Clausura standings in 2008, should not these teams for the CONCACAF Champions League qualify, would be reported for the competition. Winners were the UANL Tigres.

From Major League Soccer, the top four teams from the regular season in 2008 who could not already qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League is eligible:
- Chicago Fire SC (3rd place)
- New England Revolution ( 4th place)
- CD Chivas USA ( 5th place)
- Kansas City Wizards (6th place )
From the Primera División de México is qualified following four teams:
- Club San Luis ( 1st place)
- Santos Laguna ( 5th place)
- UANL Tigres ( 7th place)
- CF Atlas ( 8th place)
