2009 Russian Premier League

The Premjer - League 2009 was the eighth season of the Russian Premjer League. It started on 14 March 2009 with the game FK Dynamo Moscow vs. FK Moscow and ended on November 29, 2009. From June 12 to July 10 was the summer break.

Mode

16 teams played in 30 game days of the Russian football champions. Each team plays twice against every other team once in their own stadium and once at the stadium of the opponent. This resulted in a total of 240 games. For a win you got three points with a tie, both teams received a point. Who could get the most points during the season is a Russian football champions.

Participant

Preseason

As defending champion Rubin Kazan went into the season. The two last-place clubs in the preseason, sucking Energiya Vladivostok and Schinnik Yaroslavl had to stay in the first division and were replaced by FK Kuban Krasnodar and FC Rostov.

After the season

Anzhi Makhachkala FK Sibir Novosibirsk and 2010 may participate in the Premjer League, as they took the top two spots in the 1st Division 2009.
