2009 Superleague Formula season
The Superleague Formula 2009 season was the second season of Superleague Formula by Sonangol. The season consisted of six race weekends. It began on 28 June at the Circuit de Nevers Magny -Cours and ended on November 8 at the Circuito del Jarama. The championship was won by Liverpool with Adrián Vallés as a driver. The Hitech Junior Team managed the winning team.
With Sporting Lisbon, FC Midtjylland and Olympique Lyon three new clubs came out. Beijing Guoan and Borussia Dortmund withdrew after only one season in the Superleague Formula.
Starter box
All teams used Panoz chassis, Menard engines and Michelin tires.
Race
There were 2009, six race weekends. At each race weekend two races were run. The starting grid for the first race was determined by a qualifying. The starting grid for the second race was due to the inverted result of the first race. This was followed by four race weekends, the so-called " Super Final" discharged, the winners of which the so-called "Weekend Winner" was. For this race, qualified the six pilots who had scored in the first two races the most points. In the other race weekends of the Weekend Winner was determined by the total number of points scored. The Weekend Winner, received a prize of 100,000 €.
