2009 Thai Premier League
The Thai Premier League 2009 is a competition of Thai football, within the Thai Premier League ( Thai: ไทย แลนด์ พรีเมียร์ ลีก, in short: TPL, also Thai League, Thai: ไทย ลีก called ) was played in the 2009 season.
The 2009 season was played with 16 teams. The first match took place on March 7, 2009. The Champion will qualify for the AFC Champions League Play - Offs and the Cup Winners' Cup for the AFC Cup. Since 2001, a National Federation Cup will be held for the first time. The last three places in the league mean falling in the Thailand Division 1 League. The following teams came as climbers from the Thailand Division 1 League added: FC Sriracha, Muang Thong United, FC Rajnavy Rayong. New Names

Since the new rules of the League provide that each club must be a registered firm or company, the three-time champions FC Krung Thai Bank was dissolved.
