2009 Veikkausliiga
The First Division in 2009 was the 20th season of the First Division, the highest Finnish league for football the men, since their introduction in 1990. The first match took place on April 18, instead of the last on October 27, 2009.
First and thus for the 22nd time in the club's history Finnish champion was HJK Helsinki, defending champion Inter Turku finished the season ranked fifth as Table Rovaniemi PS dismounted in the Ykkönen, the penultimate JJK Jyväskylä secured the league in the relegation.
