2009 World Matchplay (darts)
The Stan James World Matchplay 2009 was a major tournament in darts and was developed by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC ) is organizing. It was held in Blackpool from 19 to 26 July 2009 at the Winter Gardens.
The defending champion Phil Taylor won the tournament by a final victory over his compatriot Terry Jenkins for the tenth time.
Prizes
The total amount of undistributed prize money was £ 400,000.
Qualification
For the World Matchplay 2009, the following players were qualified:
- The 16 top-ranked players in the Order of Merit (set)
- The 16 top-ranked players in the Players Championship Order of Merit, which were not already eligible on the Order of Merit ( unset )
