2010 AL30

2010 AL30 is a 10-15 meter -wide asteroid that passed by the Earth on January 13, 2010 in about 130,000 km around 13:46 CET. The asteroid is moving at about 36,000 km / h and belongs to the class of the Apollo asteroids that cross the Earth's orbit.

The asteroid was discovered by the LINEAR survey of MIT Lincoln Laboratories on 10 January 2010 and will be sure not to collide with the Earth. For the rotation around the sun, the object requires almost exactly one year, which triggered speculation that it might be either be a scuffed rocket stage or something similar. This view was rejected by NASA.
